Boxes For My Brother

Hello!

I am late posting today! I just finished my project - a bunch of matchboxes for my brother. Dick makes the most beautiful angel pins and he asked me if the matchbox would work for them. I decided to make him a variety because . . . . .

I found this wonderful Easter treat to send to Dick and his wife Bonita and it came in 8 sections! So, instead of sending it all together - and remembering his asking about the matchboxes - I thought why not make 8 different boxes and hide a treat in each one?! Good idea! I said to my self - let's do it! :<)

Although Dick and Bonita will see this post and know what the boxes look like, they will not see the treats inside the boxes because I will not post those photos until I hear from them that they have received the package. :<) I am off now to the post office!

You can click on the photo for larger size.

Thanks for stopping by today!

We have the most beautiful weather here in WI today - can't wait to get outside. I have the apartment windows open but love the feel of the fresh air when driving in the car!

Wishing you a good day today! You too Dick and Bonita - hope you are feeling better soon! :<)

Easter Pail

Hello!

I made this little Easter pail for a friend's grandaughter. I purchased two sizes of these plastic pails some time ago and had not used them yet. This is the smaller of the two. I had some of the Easter pattern paper left so decided to see what I could make using these two items.

This is the front . . .

the back . . .

the left side . . .

and the right side.

Thanks for stopping by today!

Wishing you a good day today! We are 'supposed to' have temperatures in the low 60's today here in WI but it is very cloudy and cold at the moment. I hope it warms up! :<)

A Wonderful Gift From A Friend

Hello!

Isn't this the most wonderful sight! My blogger friend Helen sent these to me! They are so beautiful! I was in shock after opening the box and seeing all of these gorgeous paper roses and hand sewn flowers she had made! Aren't they lovely? They must have taken hours and hours of work! And some have glitter on them - my favorite thing! :<)

And then there was a card! Helen does the most equisite quilling and I am always admiring her work - I call her the Quilling Queen. :<) In fact, she had posted this card on her blog last week saying she had to make a thank you card. And she sent it to me! I love it!

Look at this detail! I am so happy! :<)

You can visit Helen at her blog "Lets Create" at http://helenmade.blogspot.com/ to see her great projects and creations. Leave a comment and say hello - tell her Barbara sent you!

Thank you Helen! You certainly made my week! :<)

Re-Do Of The Lamb Card

Hello!

Remember I said that I had goofed up my lamb card? Well, this is the way I was intended to make it! With the rim of the treat cup INSIDE the card like this . . .

Not on the OUTSIDE of the card like this! :<)

Please excuse the grass that is stuck to the top of the treat cup in the re-do card as I cut up Easter grass the second time around for the confetti and could not get rid of the electricity! Should have stuck with the plastic! Always something! :<)

Take care. Have a good day today!

The Big Chick

Hello!

Remember seeing this tiny little chick on earlier projects this week? Well I loved him so much that I couldn't resist - I had to draw my own version - the Big Chick. :<)

Then of course, I had to make a paper punch Big Chick, right? Ellen would understand! :<)

Thanks for stopping by today!

Next week it's on to a new stamp set - although I still have some projects that I made with this week's set that I haven't shared with you! :<) I can't believe a week from Sunday is Easter already - so I best get those cards posted! :<)

Wishing you a great weekend!

Not Quite What I Planned!

Hello!

I really goofed up my first card today - can you spot what I did? Frus-tra-ting! :<) And when I tried to fix it I totally ruined it!

So I began again and used the two layers I had rescued, added another blue layer and a new image layer and made this card! :<)

I love this funny little chick but could not decide if I liked her colored in pastel yellow or bright yellow - so I made two versions. What do you think?

Thanks for stopping by today!

Tomorrow's Friday! Yeahhhh! :<) I guess I should have saved one of the cards for tomorrow's posting because now I have to make another project - wasn't thinking! :<)

Enjoy the day!

Easter Garden Watering Can

Hello!

I found the tutorial for this wonderful little garden watering can on the Splitcoaststapers site. I love it! It is so fun to make and I found myself cutting it out in numerous different paper prints just to see how it would look - in flowers, in stripes, in circles - you know! :<)

For this one, I wanted to use cut-outs from the stamp set I am using this week to decorate it with so I needed a simple background design of paper. You can click on the photos for a closer look. Hope you enjoy!

Thanks for stopping by today!

I hope that you try making one of these sweet little watering cans - the tutorial is great, the pattern is so easy to make and it can be created in many different looks! :<)

Wishing you well!

A Snow Globe For Easter

Hello!

The snow globes are such fun to make! They have an insert in the middle that can be viewed from both sides. Here is the one I made for Jim's collection. :<) Love this stamp set and the way all the images enable me to "draw" a picture!

Here is one side . .

and the other side.

Thanks for stopping by today!

I received an ad today from Archiver's and they now have pre-stitched paper for non-sewers! I have to go check this out! :<)

I Am SO Ready For Spring!

Hello!

I love stamp sets with lots of different images that can be used to make 'pictures' and had so much fun with this set over the weekend! I will have more variations to show this week.

Hoping this "Spring Dance" brings the sunshine and warm weather to stay! :<)

This is the stamp set that I will be using this week. I think it is by Penny Black. (Wish I'd learn to keep those labels!)

Thanks for stopping by!

We have sunshine today in WI - I think the temperature is to get near 60! Wishing you all a good day today wherever you are! :<)

A Tissue Pack Holder Tutorial

Hello!

I wanted to make a small gift box to hold one of the individual tissue packets - so here is my tutorial. No handle on it, as I just wanted a compact little box to fit in a purse that would protect the tissue packet from damage.

Start with a 7 1/2" by 8 1/2" piece of CS - score at 1", 3 1/2", 4 1/2" and 7" on the 7 1/2" side and score at 2", 5 1/2" and 6 1/2" on the 8 1/2" side.

Fold on all the score lines - decorate as you like. I used double panels of CS and DP and attached them to the box with sticky strip. I wanted to use my supply of sticky strip but I can say that Score tape is my preference as I love that tape - you can tear it and NO static cling! :<)

Fold and assemble the box - add the tissue packet. I wanted the box to have flaps that closed over the top of the tissue packet to not only keep them clean but also to hold it securely in place.

Attach a closure - I used velcro.

I hope you enjoyed the tutorial! :<)

Thanks for stopping by!

Wishing you a great weekend! We are gearing up for more snow here in WI - hope it turns out to be of short duration!

Here Are The Chicks Again

Hello!

Well, I don't know what happened - but when I tried to change the date of this posting to today - because that is when I posted it, it disappeared - with my comments! So here it is again. :<) An Easter card with the fun little chicks!

Having to re-do the post, it allowed me to take photos of this new line of TPC Studio paper to show you as I have had requests of what brand it is. Love it! :<)

Back side of the above.
Thanks for stopping by today! Sorry about losing the post AND the comments! Dang! My camera is acting up again with the photos so dark - I need to set up a different area for the photography but my studio area is so small that I have no idea how to do this. I will have to think on it. Someday I will show photos of my very small but very organized area! :<)

Tomorrow something different - but using these same papers. :<)

Wishing you a good evening! Barbara Diane
