Day For Daisies has you Add Some Script

Hello!

I love the Day for Daisies images - they have a delicate beauty which is so wonderful! Paper painting one of these digital images is so much fun as there are so many small pieces with lots of corners and curved lines! For this card I used the beautiful image called "Mae's Present" - she is one of my very favorite.

Those of you who visit my blog know how much I love paper piecing - the more intricate the better! An example of how 'in the zone' I get: When the card was completed I noticed that there was a very small piece missing! I didn't remember cutting it out so I knew that I had most likely threw this part of the image out with the scrap pieces. I carefully went through my scraps in the waste basket and I found it and cut it out! It was the small red hand of her beloved bunny doll! :<)

I have entered this card in the challenge at A Day For Daisies where the theme of the current challenge is "Add Some Script". Go to http://adayfordaisies.blogspot.com/search/label/challenges to see the awesome entries and Designer Team inspirations.

Thank you for visiting my blog today! We still have heat and humidity here in this part of WI - some storms have provided the much needed rainfall but also the humid temps! Guess there is no satisfying me this summer! I really long for the fresh breezes of Spring and/or Fall.

In The Doghouse

Hello!

The current challenge on Mo Manning's Challenge Blog has a theme of "In The Doghouse" and this little fellow and his friend are most definitely in the doghouse! They may try to brave it out and play innocent but the proof is there for all to see. I love this digital image of Mo's - he is called 'Guilty Bert' and I have combined him with the dog from "I Dunno" and the cookies and cookie jar cover from "Sam in Trouble Again". So much fun to make! You can find them all at http://www.mosdigitalpencil.com/ and to see all of the great entries that have been submitted for the current challenge, then http://mosdigitalchallenge.blogspot.com/ is the place you want.

Thank you for stopping by today to visit my blog! Tomorrow I have a question on posting that I hope someone out there can help me with. Wishing you a nice Monday!

"Summer Blooms" at Penny Black Allsorts Challenge

Hello!

The theme for this month on Penny Black Allsorts challenge blog is "Summer Blooms" and I have used some of the flowers, bees and sun from the Penny Black transparent stamp set 'Fresh New Day' and sketched in some grass. The flower family are so cute - with their little noses pointed up in the air! The designer team 's creations are so colorful and fun, as are the entries - so go check them out at
http://pennyblackatallsorts.blogspot.com/ - you still have time to join in the fun!

I have added glitter to the sun, the bees and the flower centers.

Thank you for stopping by today to visit my blog! The humidity here has been so high that after leaving my projects to run some errands - and turning off the A/C to save electricity - I returned home to find my CS was limp and almost damp when I tried to cut it with the scissors! Now THAT'S high humidity! Wishing you a good one!

A Polka Dot 'Thinking Of You'

Hello!

I had such fun making this card! The theme of this week's challenge on Sassy Cheryl's Challenge Blog is "Polka Dots EVERYWHERE" and I love polka dots! I used one of Cheryl's digital images called 'Thinking of You' and after I colored the skin I paper painted it all using 3 different papers with polka dots. I outlined the pieced image with a blue marker that matched the background paper color and then cut out the entire image, leaving a thin blue border and glued it to the background paper - which is also covered with polka dots! I layered this onto a black cardstock card and added the white dots around the border with a white gel pen. Check out the great entries at http://sassycherylschallenge.blogspot.com/ for inspiration and fun!

Thank you for stopping by today to visit my blog! I love getting comments - in addition to the kind words, it is so much fun to get to know you and see what is going on at your blogs! I made it through yesterday's temps by NOT going outside except to open and then close my car windows. I worry that with the heat buildup inside the car they will explode! Wishing you a great day today!

Time To Share WOYW?

Hello!

It's the middle of the work week already  - and time for What's On Your Workdesk? Wednesday. With all of our hot weather here in this part of WI it has been on my mind to create some Christmas cards to take my mind off the heat. Today it is to be 100 degrees again - breaking another record set in 1934 of 98 degrees - and we have a heat advisory again until 9:00 pm tonight. We did have a bit of rain early this morning but with  the humidity we now have the heat index could be 107 degrees! The thunder was horrendous - after one window shaking thunder our electricity went out for a few minutes - so loud!

As always, Julia's blog "Stamping Ground" is where all of the bloggers have left links to show what they are creating at their workdesks - so go to
http://stamping-ground.blogspot.com/ to see what they have to share and join in the fun! I love getting to know so many great bloggers! Thank you Julia for creating this great opportunity for us all! On my workdesk today is my selection of Christmas papers, markers and image to begin a holiday card - and you can see to the left a wonderful stamp sent to me by my friend Mrs.A - I can't wait to begin a card using it!. Thank you Mrs. A - I love it!

Thank you for stopping by today to visit my blog! Wishing you a happy day!

An ATC Card Challenge at Meljens

Hello!

This week the challenge on the Meljen's Design blog is to make an ATC card. This is only the 3rd ATC that I have made for a challenge and I still keep typing ACT! The image I have used is a Meljen's digital image called "Love Strung Birds" and I have taken just one of the birds and the heart from the image. The bird, heart and words are all colored with markers, cut out and paper pieced onto the background paper of the ATC and then I added a few touches that are on the original image. To see all of the ATC entries and add your own, go to http://meljensdesignsdt.blogspot.com/ I was one of the winners from last week - TWO free images - I was so excited to see my card and name today on their blog!

Thank you for stopping by to visit my blog today! I apologize for taking so long to get back to many of you who left your kind comments and e-mails - I did return 35 of them yesterday so am pretty much caught up! I love hearing from you and feel badly when I get behind in visiting your blogs! Wishing you a happy day!

Hugs and Kisses

Hello!

The current challenge on Mo Manning's Challenge blog http://mosdigitalchallenge.blogspot.com/ has a theme of "Hugs and Kisses" and this is my entry card. I knew right away which digital image of Mo's that I would use - she is called 'Love Ya' and I knew that she was perfect for this challenge as she gives hugs and kisses to her beloved teddy bear.

This is called a Surprise Pop Up Card and you can find the tutorial for this awesome card on the Spitcoaststampers site at
http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/resources/tutorials/surprise_pop_up_card/ This is the first time I have made this style card and it was great fun! Now that I know how it goes together, I will be making many more - in fact I have started another one today. :<)

Thank you for visiting my blog today! After a bit of relief from the heat here in this part of WI we are again to  have temperatures today in the triple digits! I hope this doesn't last long. Wishing you a nice Monday!

To see the wonderful DT interpretations as well as all of the great entries! go to http://sassycherylschallenge.blogspot.com/ You will be inspired!

Thank you for stopping by to visit my blog today! We have cooler temperatures this morning in this part of WI after our long awaited rain! It is only 72 this morning with a high of only 88 expected today but by Monday it is to be 100 degrees again! Right now it is great and I love having the windows open and no air conditioning needed! Wishing you a happy and fun weekend!

I Love Paperdolls

Hello!

One of my most favorite things to do is to cut out paperdolls! I love detail cutting - you know how I love to paper paint my cards! It is very soothing to me to not have to think - just mindless cutting of paper. It is a good thing that my friend Jamie's granddaughter Ellie loves to play with paperdolls so I have an excuse! These are the latest paperdolls that I cut out for her and I made this folder with a little handle for her to carry them in. We dropped them off at grandma's house yesterday - I hope she likes them!

Thank you for stopping by today to visit my blog! We had MORE rain here in this part of WI - one can actually see a little green showing through all that yellow and brown grass! The heat is now so humid but we needed the rain so badly! My electric bill is going to be enormous because of the need to run the air conditioner every day - I may have to go on that diet next month as no money for food! :<)

WOYW? Time and A Different Workdesk

Hello!

I have a different workdesk and studio area all re-arranged today - but not by choice. My son Jim was here this past weekend and on Sunday I had him help me move some furniture in a impulse idea to move my studio area around so we could move the small table from the kitchenette to the living room area - and it backfired on me! I live in a small apartment and my studio area is half of my living room. I 'used to have' a large L-shaped desk as my workdesk (see prior postings) and it had never been put together properly when I purchased it so it always was a bit iffy when moving it. It was heavy and bulky and it would start to come apart at the connections. Well, this time it did really come apart and one entire end broke off! I just wanted to sit down and cry - knowing that now we had to take the rest of it apart and haul it out to the trash dumpster - and I had to find a new arrangement with what I had - which meant moving everything else in the area and finding a place for it! The nice Sunday afternoon - I had been cutting paperdolls for a new project and Jim had been working on his artwork - became a disaster. And it was hot - even with the air conditioning on!

But I had no choice and by the time I took Jim back home at 4:00 pm I had two folding tables in place for my workdesk and all of the drawer units and the small bookcase moved around. - which had meant emptying them and moving and then putting back. There was still all of the equipment and 3-ring binders and everything that had been in and on the old workdesk and the drawer units all over the floor and on the couch, etc. and I finally finished at about 7:00 pm that evening when I had to stop because I could hardly bend or walk by that time! We had  moved the hide-a-bed couch that weighs a ton and all of the drawer units and bookcase and when we moved the table into the living room area there
was no room for it and the two living room chairs so we had to move it back which meant moving the large microwave, etc. I finished the vacuuming on Monday morning. So much for impulse ideas and we still have to eat in the living room from trays!

Oh well, I have a new workdesk and my studio area is all re-arranged and clean and here it is. Be sure to check out Julia's blog
http://stamping-ground.blogspot.com/ to see all of the other workdesks and what interesting projects people are working on!

Thank you for stopping by today to visit my blog! I will try to get to everyone who left a lovely comment or e-mail to return the kindness! We actually had RAIN here this morning in this part of WI - real RAIN - and although it is still supposed to be in the 90's today - the last three record breaking days of 100+ are past! Wishing you a cool and happy day today!
