Favorite Project With Mo Manning Image in 2012

Hello!

The current theme on Mo Manning's Challenge Blog is to submit the favorite project that you created using her images in 2012. I love this couple - they remind me so much of my father's family who came here from Denmark when my father was a child, especially my uncle Hank and my aunt Sally. They are both Mo's digital images "Introducing Oskar" and "Mummu" and it was very difficult to pick my favorite from these two projects I created - I had to much fun 'fussy cutting' them both - so here they are. : <)

Go to http://mosdigitalchallenge.blogspot.com/ to check out the favorites and be inspired!

Thank you for stopping by today to visit my blog! I wish you a very Happy New Year and all good things in the coming year for you and your family!

A Special Gift

Hello!

I wanted to make a special gift for my friends here at the apartment building where I live - people who have been here for many years and were residents when I came here to live over 9 years ago. There are not many still living here - lots of new faces and a very much different atmosphere now. We have all lost many good friends over the years. So this Christmas I wanted to give them something special and personal.

I love the snow globes that you can insert your own artwork or photos inside and as the blizzard we recently had - with 19.5 inches of snow in one day - was quite dramatic, I decided to make them a snow globe with photos that I took on the grounds of the apartment building after the snowstorm. Sort of a memory connected to our home. Many residents had asked me for copies of photos when they saw me out in the snow with my camera. We seniors like things like that. :<) Each snow globe has a different photo on each side and each person's snow globe has different photos. On the bottom of each one it says "Voss Haus - Blizzard of 2012 - 19.5" of snow". It was difficult to photograph them for my post but they turned out lovely and everyone seemed delighted when them saw them - big smiles and all loved the personal touch. That made ME happy so good feelings all around! :<)

Thank you for stopping by today to visit my blog! I am trying to get organized here today - not much hope of creating anything new as I have to be out and about and I still have to finish some candy cane elves I didn't get done before Christmas. Oh well, there is always next year and I will have made the pair and will know how they are assembled. Wishing you a good day today!

Better Watch Out - Better Not Pout , , , , , , , , , ,

Hello!

Santa Claus is coming to town! Merry Christmas!

I have been working day and night to finish my gifts - I am done now with everything and just want to crash. These wonderful little candy-filled trees were so much fun to make and all the pieces fit together perfectly! I will definitely make these again next year! I saw them on http://www.sharonsscrappyspace.com/ and she gave the link to http://jackietopa.typepad.com/ for the tutorial. I made 12 of these all together and when they were finished I put each one into a cellophane bag and gathered and tied it at the top with a red bow..

I also made 12 more Santa candy bar holders - only this time I changed them again with a round belt buckle this time and smaller buttons. They were the big hit this year but I know that the little trees will be also.

Thank you for stopping by today to visit my blog! I am wishing you a wonderful Christmas Eve!

Aftermath of Blizzard - 19.5 inches of Snow!

Hello!

I posted photos yesterday of our blizzard and now that it is over we officially had 19.5 inches of snow fall here during the storm and more last night, along with strong winds and dropping temperatures. I took these photos early this morning when I went out to clean off my car - again - and it was very cold and windy. The sun was just coming up and so most everything was still in shadow. The winds had created strange shapes and mounds all around. When I first looked out my windows I saw a long ridge run the length of the building and outside the drifts were everywhere. Our poor trees with their branches hanging down to the ground - the snow was so heavy in the storm and now the branches are frozen to the ground where they touched. You can see here how high the snow is piled - in front of my clean car - at the edges of our parking lot

I made a few more Santa candy bar holders - a little different style this time with added buttons. This wraps around a Million Dollar candy bar and they make great gifts!

Thank you for stopping by to visit my blog today! Wishing you a great weekend!

Ohhhh Emmmm Geeee! It Certainly Did Snow!

Hello!

OMG! We ARE having a blizzard! That was my first thought when I went outside this morning after the first big snow overnight. It is still snowing now at noon and it is to continue all day and into tonight, It is very warm outside - in the 30's - and we have the Thunder-Snow - so weird! While out cleaning off the car one hears this rolling loud thunder and it is snowing!

Here is what I saw when I first went outside and took photos before I started to clean off my car. I have since been out 3 times to clean it and move it and now I am staying in for the day until the snow stops long enough for the plow to come again. It was very wet snow - so heavy - and with it being so deep I was soaking wet when finished the first time. The second and third time too, now that I think on it - with a heavy wet snowfall coming down. The poor trees are going to have broken branches again as the heavy snow just pulls everything down because of the weight. It is beautiful to look at with the snow sticking to everything though - like a fairyland.

When I went out the second time I took photos from the front of the building - the first ones were taken at the back parking lot where I park my car. You can see how wet and heavy the snow is by the amount sticking to the trees and building and it continued to fall so hard that on the photo of the flagpole in the center of the circle drive you can see the snowplow in the back left of the photo - not finished yet with the parking lot - and where he has already cleaned it is filling up again! You can see the depth of the snow he has already removed by what is left around the base of the flagpole where a flower garden is. And it just kept coming down!

Thank you for stopping by to visit my blog today! To all of you who continue to leave me your kind comments even though I am so behind in repaying the visit - thank you! I WILL get to your blogs to leave a message soon - difficult times here and I have been working on those Christmas cards when I find a minute. I do visit your blogs but don't leave messages - but I am keeping up on your beautiful creations! Wishing you a good day today! I am going out to clean my car again soon - I can't believe how much has fallen again since I started this post! We are still in a winter warning and blizzard conditions until after midnight tonight, when it is to stop. Unbelievable! I am too old for this now!

"D" is for "Decorations!" on Mo Manning Challenge

Hello!

We have a blizzard on the way - our first big snowstorm this winter. I am not looking forward to this but I have my hood attached to my coat and my boots, snow brush and ice scraper at the ready. We are to have snow around noon today and then again about 3:00 pm - but tomorrow is when the big hit is to come. It was warm outside this morning but that may mean wet heavy snow - and lots of it!

More Christmas cards today - this time I am using Mo Manning's wonderful digital image called "Decorated Tree" and the trees have been fussy cut and decorated and then put on a shiny green paper to showcase them - which is difficult to photograph with my camera but I tried to take the photos  from different angles. Mo's current challenge theme is "D" is for . . . . so here is my entry of "D is for Decoration!" To see all of the "D's" that have been inspired, go to Mo's challenge blot at http://mosdigitalchallenge.blogspot.com/

Thank you for visiting my blog today! Here is my latest completed puzzle! I LOVE putting puzzles together and have started a really fun one! Frustrating to not be able to spend more time with them because of having to make my Christmas cards, but I have the rest of the winter. I did send those first 10 to my brother for our challenge (see earlier posts) and he has been busy completing them one at a time!

Wishing you a happy day today! I will take photos of the snowstorm to share. :<) I would like to REALLY share it - like send the snow to you!
