This quote says it all for me:
"I do not understand how anyone can live without one small place of enchantment to turn to."
My small place is my studio area in the corner of my living room. My Whimcees are all the dolls, bears and other creatures that I sew from cloth or sculpt from clay, the cards and papercraft projects that I create.
It is with this blog I hope to share my world created in my small space.
The current challenge at Sassy Cheryl's Challenge Blog has a theme of "Punches and/or Dies" and this is my entry. Check out the fun entries and join in the fun at http://sassycherylschallenge.blogspot.com/ The sweet little girl with her comics is one of Cheryl's new digital images called "Gabby's MARVELous Adventure" and you can find it at http://www.sassycherylsstamps.com/
Thank you for visiting my blog today! It is very cold here in this part of WI - shouldn't there be signs of Spring soon? I know that here in WI we can still have snowstorms in April but this winter has seemed so long. Wishing you a happy day and some sunshine where you are!
Jimbo is a very well behaved kitten - he learns fast and does not climb up where he should not be. But one day the temptation was just too much to resist.
I was in the kitchen fixing something to eat when I noticed a movement out of the corner of my eye. In the window between the living room and the kitchen was a little kitten head looking intently at my lunch that was sitting on the board. He knew that this was not a place he was to be yet the smell of the food must have been such a strong draw that he just had to see where it was coming from. My recliner sits on the living room side of the window and he was sitting on the small table by the recliner that was just under the window. He was moving so slow and intently, trying to be so discreet, that I was able to go get my camera without him even acknowledging my leaving the kitchen.
It was such fun to take these photos and watch his slow but determined progress - he was so focused that he didn't even pay attention to me taking the photos. After he managed to get up on the window and before he reached the food, I stopped him with a "No! You know better!" and a gentle lift to the floor where I gave him a kitten treat and so all was well. I love taking photos of this funny little guy as you can see. He certainly has my heart. :<) I love the third photo where he is checking out the kitchen from this new and very interesting view.
Thank you for stopping by to visit my blog today! Wishing you a happy day!
I have entered this card in Mo Manning's current challenge with the theme of "Add A Ribbon" - using one of her new images called "Paddy". I don't often use ribbon on my cards simply because I forget to do it. I have many ribbons and now have them on display in my work area but still I forget. On this card I used a Irish green ribbon and added some dots of Stickles to the ribbon and to the shamrocks. My orchid is now in full bloom and I thought you might like to see photos. This is the plant that my son Jim gave to me about 2 years ago and after those blooms ended it just sat there. I faithfully watered it every week - one half cup of water - and finally after 2 years it started to get buds - a total of 9 buds - and I was so excited. On January 14th I posted photos of the first bloom opening.
This is what it looks like today. So beautiful.
Thank you for visiting my blog today! I am so grateful for all of you who continue to visit even when my posts have been few and my creations far between. Your kind comments and e-mails are heartwarming. Thank you. Wishing you a great week!
As you can see I am totally in love with my new kitten Jimbo. I am having great fun taking photos of all of his funny antics and when he is just quiet and beautiful. He has the most sweet and loving nature and is so full of energy and interest in all and everything around him. He has been my saving grace, as I have said, during this time of turmoil and illness. Even though he has two names now - Jimbo and Buddy - I guess I should have called him Sweet Face. :<)
I am sharing this post today with on What's On Your Workdesk? at http://stamping-ground.blogspot.com/ and also on Sassy Cheryl's blog Show Me Thursday at http://sassycheryls.blogspot.com/.
Thank you for visiting my blog today! So much snow here in this part of WI and now ice/rain is the forecast for tomorrow. I am so looking forward to Spring this year! Wishing you a happy day today!
Oh My Goodness! It is Valentines Day tomorrow! I have not created anything for so long now because of illness and life's issues but Valentines Day - one can't miss that! This is a wonderful new image of Mo Manning's - a salute to Shirley Temple who died Wednesday at age 85. I grew up watching Shirley's movies - I loved her - what a talent she was as a child! So here is little Shirley wishing you all a very Happy Valentines Day!
Thank you for visiting my blog today and thank you for all of the kind inquiries as to how I am. I hope to post some photos soon of my new kitten Jimbo. I took him in to the vet today for his 3 week re-check and he is doing very well! He has gained one pound and now weighs 5 1/2 pounds! He is my saving grace and I am so blessed to have this little guy as my buddy. In fact I call him Buddy so often that he answers to both! My son Jim will be coming to visit this weekend and he will be so amazed at how much Jimbo/Buddy has grown. He is still so little but getting very long and with his big feet he will be a large cat when grown. The vet said he had lost two front baby teeth and the new ones were growing in. Who knew that kittens lost their baby teeth - I didn't!
You can have little Shirley for your very own by visiting Mo at http://www.digitalpenciltoo.blogspot.com/ I have also entered this card in her current challenge with the theme of "Love is . . ." and you can see all of the beautiful cards and enter your own at http://mosdigitalchallenge.blogspot.com/
Wishing you a very happy Valentines Day - I hope that you spend it with loved ones.
I have not posted for some time now as I have been ill and empty of motivation to create. My new kitten Jimbo/Buddy has been my saving grace. He loves to watch TV while I work on my computer . . .
is fascinated by everything - his image in the mirror . . . .
Where is he hiding?
and he really sleeps like this! :<)
Thank you for visiting my blog today and a thank you to all who wrote to check on me. It's just a difficult time with many issues to deal with. I hope to create something this weekend. Wishing you a happy one!
