Halloween House #2 Part Two

Hello,

The  work on the house continues. Added strips to the roof and eaves and sides of the chimney.

All of the individual pieces of the house are edged with a black marker so no white edges of any paper shows. Big, little - all are edged in black.

Then it is time to start to fussy cut all of the detail pieces to add to the house. Still needs a door!

And then the finishing touches. It's time to color with markers, fussy cut, layer and add the figures to the house.

Tomorrow the completed house. It's almost done! Wishing you a good day today!

Halloween House #2 Part One

Hello!

Another Halloween House to share today. This one was a lot smaller, but I still ended up spending over 30 hours on it. This little house was a gift but I loved how it turned out so much that I didn't want to give it up! :<) This is the first house I have given away.

So here we have the start photos. Jim painted it for me with acrylic black paint and when it was dry I began to cover the house and roof with the basic bottom layer of paper. I am using the Graphic 45 "An Eerie Tale" collection. This little house also opens from the top and is the smallest of a set of three houses - the one I finished first being the largest.

It is always such fun for me to look at these beginning photos after the house is completed and be amazed at what all has been done to the house. I don't have a plan when I begin, just cut as I go and add papers where I think they should be. Love the process of turning a plain black house into a multi-colored and colorful completed work of art! :<)

House walls and roof covered, time to cover the eaves and the chimney with basic bottom layers.

Then it is time to add the trim under the eaves, around the window and strips on the corners.

Tomorrow I will have the rest of the photos of the process and then on Saturday will post the completed house It is much colder here in this part of WI - rainy and gloomy day today. Good day to stay in and work on projects! Wishing you sunshine where you are!

Wasn't Me

Hello!

I love combining images and part of images; I used this combination to make a new door poster . . .

and a card.

All of the images used are by Mo Manning. This cutie "Just Sylvia" is sitting on the "steps" from the "Sitting Elements" - the pumpkin is from "Mummy" - and the witch's hat and broom are from "Trick or Treat". The text is from "Wasn't Me" - and it was all such fun to put together for this little girl who is not too happy that she may miss out on the Halloween party. (She won't.) :<)

Sounds like winter tonight in this part of WI. Very windy and the howling sounds like a blizzard outside! Too much of a reminder that the real winter weather is not that far away! Snow in some places tonight. I am SO not ready for that! Wishing you some sunshine where you are!

For Jim's New Home

Hello!

I can't believe it - another week has gone by! Today is again Wednesday - what happened to Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday, Monday, Tuesday??? The week went speeding by! We moved Jim to a new home on Monday and I made this for him to put on his bulletin board in his new room. New guardians, new home - now have hope for a happy future.

I love to mix images to create my card posters. For this creation I used all Mo Manning images and took the pumpkins from her "Twick or Tweet", the cutie pie from "Wasn't Me" and the house is one of her "Tall Houses". I fussy cut and layered onto a triple layer backing. It was fun to make and colorful and Jim was excited to get it.

Wednesday means time for "What's On Your Workdesk?" so be sure to check out what everyone is doing and see the project Julie is working on - go to http://stamping-ground.blogspot.com/

Yesterday was the most incredible and perfect Fall weather here in this part of WI - 72 degrees, lots of sunshine, no wind, the trees all at peak color! Today was also much the same but rain in the forecast now so getting cloudy and dark and starting to feel a cooler breeze coming in the window. I could ake this weather all winter! Well, maybe with a bit of snow for the holidays. :<) Wishing you a happy evening!

WOYW? - My Finished Halloween House for 2015!

Hello!

Today for "What's On Your Workdesk? Wednesday" I have photos to share of my finished Halloween House for 2015. It was very labor intensive but I am happy with the end result!

I had a few more details to complete after the photos of yesterday's post. I added the green print fussy cut edge along the base. I colored the back of the edge with a black marker to cover the bright printed paper on the backside of the green print. Then I added a strip of the black polka dot along the base at the bottom.

Still needing a little something, something - I decided to also add strips of the black polka dot to trim the inside of the front and side eaves, plus a few more fussy cut flowers from the printed paper used to cover the house, added to the side eaves of the house.

You can see here the white print paper that I used to cover the back side of the green print paper used for the overhang in addition to coloring the fussy cut edges with a black marker.

Almost done, but then I noticed that I still had to add  a strip of the black polka dot paper around the top of the chimney - almost forgot that!

The house was finally completed and I had only to add the fence I had painted black to the outside of the base and add the fussy cut figure of the lady - who having discovered this small enchanted house, was looking in a window where she thought she had seen movement.

While at the same time, unknown to her, someone was looking down from an upstairs window and shining his lantern to see more clearly what was causing the movement he had seen.

The Beginning

The End Result

Thank you for visiting my blog today! I hope you enjoyed seeing the progress of my 2015 Halloween House. I had such fun doing this project - now on to the next! To check out what others are creating at their workdesks, go to http://stamping-ground.blogspot.com/ and share you own photos!

Wishing you a happy day today! We have wonderful sunshine and warmer weather here in this part of WI today - hope it stays awhile!

The Base of the Halloween House

Hello!

With the house pretty much done except for some trim on the dormers that I wasn't quite sure of yet, it was time to cover the base of the house. I used the same white patterned paper that I had used for the trim on the roof to balance out the patterns.

After the base was covered, I wanted to add a bit of color - and using the two pattered papers that I had used for the windows, I made strips to go around the bottom of the house and also out from the two front corners.

Then I decided to add another layer of trim to the base using the green patterned paper I had used under the eaves with the polka dots to add more balance . . . . .

And I painted a fence.

My buddy Jimbo always has to be where I am and when I am working at my workdesk his favorite place to get comfortable is the table behind where I sit. That this is where I cut my papers does not seem to bother him in the least bit. When I need to use the cutter or choose some paper from the stack I am using for the project, he looks at me like "Excuse me, did you want something?" And then it is a stare down as to who will get their way.

It was very dark and gloomy earlier this morning in this part of WI but now the sun is out and making all he colored leaves look beautiful! It is to be warmer weather again for a few days. Wishing you a sunshine day where you are!
