Autumn Fun with Mo Manning Challenge

Hello!

Today's card is my entry in the Mo Manning challenge. The current theme is "Autumn Fun" and this cute little person is ''JoJo", one of Mo's digital images. This would be a wonderful and fun Halloween costume and I have added the sunflowers that I cut out from a patterned paper to give it a bit of Autumn feel. You can find this image and more at http://www.mosdigitalpencil.com/ and to see all of the great entries to the challenge and to enter it with your project, go to http://mosdigitalchallenge.blogspot.com/

Thank you for visiting my blog today! We have been having some beautiful weather here in this part of WI and more is in the forecast! Lots of sun and warm temperatures - wishing you the same!

WOYW? - Sassy Cheryl's ORANGE & BLACK Challenge

Hello!

With Halloween almost here, it was time to make my yearly poster for my apartment door and I am so behind this year! I always have made a progressive poster - where I start with the background and add something new each day for people to follow during the month of October until the finale on Halloween Eve - but this time I made something different.

I am combining two separate posts today in one. Today is "What's On Your Workdesk? Wednesday  - and you can see all of the great entries at http://stamping-ground.blogspot.com/ This was my workdesk when I started the poster - beginning to cut out my images and using all my colors of orange markers as it was for Sassy Cheryl's ORANGE & BLACK challenge at http://sassycherylschallenge.blogspot.com/ Check out all of this creativity on both blogs for inspiration!

I started with a scrapbook page of patterned paper as my background. I was going to take a photo of the page before I started but forgot - so here is a part of another one that I had used the other side of for my first Concertina card. To this scrapbook page I added the completed Sassy Cheryl's digital images with dimensionals and then began to add lots of different shades of orange color with my Stampin' Up markers and glitter with orange Stickles!

My completed door poster for Halloween 2012. As you can see, I added a lot of color and glitter!

I cut out pumpkins from another sheet of patterned paper and added them with dimensionals in between the feet of the images of the children - across the top and on either side of the greeting. I also added glitter accents to them and filled in the words of the greeting.

I added some leaves I cut out from one of the digital images that I had colored with black marker.

I added glitter accents to the pumpkins in the border and also colored the blank pumpkins behind them and the vines between them.

I colored in the bodies and eyes of the two owls and added glitter to the eyes.

I added glitter to the windows of the house and to all of the stars in the sky and colored in the lines of the house to give it dimension.

I added glitter to everything I had colored bright orange in the images of the children. I cut out the parts of the images I wanted to use. They are from left to right "Sally and Her Bluebirds", "Teacher's Apple Boy" and "Sassy Sally and Her Autumn Leaves" and you can find them at http://www.sassycherylsdigis.com/

Thank you for stopping by to visit my blog today! We have sunshine this morning here in this part of WI but rain is scheduled for later today and over the next two days. Wishing you some sunshine today!

Upside Down and Backwards

Hello!

This finished card is not at all what it was supposed to be! I wanted to make another Concertina card as I loved the end results of the first one I made. It started out ok - all went well with the cutting of the cardstock and the scoring/folding. Then I added the patterned paper and discovered I had glued it on upside down. So I flipped the card so that the little pumpkins on the paper were right side up and continued to plan the scene, cut out the images, color them with markers and glued everything to the card with adhesive and dimensionals.

The little trick-or-treaters looked so cute as they made their way up the hill, stopping at houses along the way  to ask for Halloween treats. Even their dog was having a great time. Little did they know yet who waited for them at the top of the hill with a cookie in hand. Pretty scary!

But wait, they are going UP the hill? They are supposed to be going DOWN the hill! Then I realized when I flipped the card to show the patterned paper right side up it made the card going the wrong direction! I put so much work and time into the layout and I couldn't remove the images to re-do it - so I folded it so it made into a card with a front and a back and the scene when it is opened. It can't stand when it is opened up but  it is cute anyway. The houses and trick-or-treaters and their dog are digital images from Mo Manning and the ghosts are some clip art I found on the Internet.

An Old Friend Returns

Hello!

Is that someone sitting on the TV behind my bookcase? What in the world!?

Is that you Percy?

It is! It's Percy Good fellow - come back home to live. Yeahhhh!

Percy is one of my dolls who went to live with his new owner in a fabric store and now he has been returned to me to spend his retirement overseeing my studio area. Love you Percy, I am so happy to have your company again! I created Percy Goodfellow from a 'elinor peace bailey' pattern and you may remember this photo of Percy with elinor from my posting of the EPB Class that was held in 2010 when I got to meet my idol in person. It was an exciting day - as you can see!

Thank you for stopping in today to visit my blog! Wishing you a happy day!

WOYW? Wednesday Tutorial for Concertina Card

Hello!

Another Wednesday and time again for a What's On Your Workdesk? share. I promised you a tutorial so here are the measurements for the Concertina Card. The finished card looks complicated but it is very simple to make. The card base measures 3" x 12" x 7" with a slant cut from the top of the 7" side across to the top of the 3" side. Score across the 12" side at 3", 6" and 9". Fold on the score lines and decorate! Have fun! I know I did making my first one and I am now working on another! Now to see all the wonderful happenings on workdesks throughout blog land go to visit Julia at http://stamping-ground.blogspot.com/!

These are the papers and paper punches I used on my Concertina Card. See my previous post for photos of the layout of the cut outs on the finished card.

Thank you for stopping by today to visit my blog! I am still trying to play catch up in return visits to you all. I was able to see many of your blogs yesterday - such talent and fun cards and projects! I will continue today until I reach the end of my list! I love your comments and e-mails - they make my day! Wishing you a happy one - it is SO COLD here in this part of WI today! Freezing temperatures last night! I am not ready for this!

Concertina Card

Hello!

Today's card is called a Concertina Card. It was great fun to cut out all the different images from various patterned papers and decide each section layout to create this old fashioned Halloween scene. I am working on another one using digital images. I will post the measurements for this card with a short tutorial.

New Sitting Area of Living Room

Hello!

I have new furniture in the sitting area of my living room - first new in over 30+ years. Those of you who read my blog regularly know that I have a very small apartment - with my workdesk/studio area taking up half of the living room space - so it is difficult to arrange. My new couch and rocker/recliner are lovely not only to look at but to sit on and the fit is perfect! Gone are the old ugly and now a beautiful and calming new space. My friend Anna did this for me - thank you Anna. As I have said so many times, I am blessed with good friends and thank you can not even begin to say what I feel.

Thank you for stopping by to visit my blog today. Your kind words are what keep me blogging. I hope that you have a happy weekend - it is very cold here in this part of WI today but the colors are beautiful! My son Jim and I went to visit my favorite dog Brandy yesterday - she is not doing well and my friends called to say we should come to see her. I love that dog with all my heart and it was so good to spend some time with her. They live out in the country and the reds/oranges on the trees were absolutely beautiful! I wish I had taken my camera but didn't think of it.

Anything Goes on Mo Manning Challenge

Hello!

I started this card last week as my entry in the Mo Manning Challenge but did not finish it in time so planned to enter it this week if it fit the new challenge them - which started today. With all the chaos here I forgot and posted it on Tuesday. The new challenge theme is "Anything Goes" and although I don't know if this is acceptable, here it is again so I can enter it in this week's challenge.

This is the one of the newest images that Mo has created and I absolutely fell in love with it when I saw it. This sweetheart is called "A Little Birdie Told Me" and you can find her at http://www.digitalpenciltoo.blogspot.com/ To see all of the wonderful creations by Mo's designer team and the new challenge entries - http://mosdigitalchallenge.blogspot.com/ is the place to go!

Thank you for stopping by today to visit my blog! I appreciate your patience while I try to get through all of these life issues that are happening. Wishing you a sunny day - we have a lovely one here in this part of WI.

WOYW? Wednesday Time

Hello!

Not much being created on my workdesk these past weeks. I finished my Never-Ending card and one for my friend Verda - and not much else. I have not posted to What's On Your Workdesk? Wednesday for some time now - life's issues are overwhelming one after the other lately but decided I needed to get back to creating and so started this Halloween card yesterday. I love the Halloween season - the colors and images are such fun combinations - that is why my Never-Ending card was such an enjoyable process. I am not sure how I will finish this card as I am still trying different ideas - maybe with multiple images. Color them with markers or paper piece? - don't know - but it is moving forward.

Go to http://stamping-ground.blogspot.com/ to see all of the happenings on workdesks around blogger world - #174 Wednesday share post today! So much talent and creative projects being worked on - and some not so busy, like me. With the Halloween season upon us and Christmas closer every day - so many fun things to make.

Thank you for stopping by today to visit my blog! We have another sunny day here in this part of WI but starting tomorrow the temperatures are going to take a drop and it will be COLD outside! Wishing you a sunny and warm Fall day today!

A Card For My Friend

Hello,

No matter what happens, I have to make my weekly card for my friend Verda - who comes to my door without fail every Monday morning with a smile, her gift of candy and my hug for the week. In return I create her a card for her collection which she proudly displays for all who visit her and then she comes again back to visit with another hug!. This is my card for her this week.

Difficult times continue here - I am sorry to not have visited you all as planned this weekend but I was gone both days sorting/packing for a upcoming move of my son Jim. Projects await me in my studio area but creating is almost non-existent at this time. Hopefully this week I can finish more cards to share. Wishing you all a good day today!
