New Doll - Pop Up Witch

Hello!

The days just seem to disappear lately - a week goes by in a flash! I have  been working on a new doll - a Kathryn Walmsley on-line class to make a pop-up toy witch doll. Here are some photos of the head. The first are with the ears on and the nose pinned, ready to stitch. You can't see that there are THREE darts in the nose - at the end and each nostril. Very small pieces to sew! 

Here the nose has been sewn to the head and stuffed and needle sculpted to give it shape.

I have also been working on a haunted house and will have some photos of that tomorrow and then more photos of the witch as I have now finished her hands and hat and will start to work on her clothes. But first I have a lot of fussy cutting to do for the haunted house. Wishing you a happy day today! We have sunshine here in this part of WI - but it is COLD! I am not ready for winter.

It's WOYW? Time and Mine Is A Mess!

Wednesday is always "What's On Your Workdesk?" time - a chance to share with each other what creations we are working on. All kinds of things going on at my workdesk today - apron treat holders, a haunted house started and I have begun working on my first pop-up doll - so many things!

Cute Little Apron Holder Treat Holder

Cute little treat holders that I made today. I needed something that I could make quickly and was not too detailed as my eyes are bad today. The little aprons fit that wish. A Gift For Martha, The Mother of the Bride

Hello,

Aren't surprises fun? Today I am sharing one we had happen at our home! I received a package in the mail for Martha, the Mother of the Bride doll. Martha was beside herself with excitement! "My own mail? Quick, open it! Oh, what can it be?" I opened the box and inside was a small box and a letter just for her which said . . . . .

I have enclosed two versions of this pendant.

One is a quick version for when you are puttering around the house or chopping wood.

The other is a true Wire Wrapped piece of art for attending weddings, graduations,opera, etc.

I opened the little box and in it was an unexpected and wonderful gift for Martha from my brother Richard. He had recently begun to make beautiful wirework jewelry and has been sending me photos to show me his progress. Nestled inside the box on some fluffy filling were a tiny chain and two beautiful necklace cameos that Richard had created for Martha! We were both in awe! "Oh my" said Martha "are these both for me?"

Martha was so touched by this kindness! She had been secretly wishing for a necklace she told me, but she didn't want to hurt my feelings as she loved her outfit and her earrings! But didn't I agree that a necklace was the perfect final touch? "Perfection!" I agreed. We had great fun with the trying-on and photographing the two beautiful cameos. Which one do you like best?

Martha loved them both so much that she couldn't decide which one to wear! "I don't want to put one away when I wear the other!" she said. After thinking for awhile, with a twinkle in her eyes and smiling her sweet smile, she said "I know! I will wear the other on as my purse decoration!" And so she did - and now she stands on the shelf in all her glory. Happy as can be! 

Thank you Richard! We both send you big hugs! You are the best brother/friend one can have!

A Hershey's Holiday Treat

This project was great fun! It is a bit of work to cut and fold, etc. when you are making multiples, but the end result is a sturdy treat holder that can be a great little holiday display even after you have eaten the candy! It's WOYW? Wednesday Time

A Memory Book For A Friend

Hello!

I made this memory book for my friend Conni. She is very girly-girl, loves flowers and pearls and lace and ruffles - is an incurable romantic and her favorite color is blue. I tried to make her book just like her.

A Wiper Card for Sassy Cheryl's Challenge

Hello,

When I saw this fun style of card, I knew that I had to make one! It's called a Wiper Card and you can find the tutorial here http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/resources/tutorials/wipercard/ I made this card as a farewell card for a couple and their little dog who were moving from the apartment building where I live. I turned my card so that the little wiper message card swings out from the side instead of the top as in the tutorial.
