Secret Panel Card Tutorial Part I

Hello!

Many of you requested that I have a tutorial on how to make the Secret Panel card. Thank you for asking and here is Part I, which will take you through the basic construction of the card's hidden panel. Have fun! :<)

Starting with a 5 1/2" x 8 1/2" piece of CS, fold it first in half and then each side in half again. This will form a 'tent' when you lay the card face down.

With the CS folded in half, cut two lines to meet the first fold line - creating a center section. You can measure to make 3 equal sections or just eyball the distance, making one section larger than the other. This is what I did. :<)

I pushed the center section back for this photo so you could see the three sections more clearly.

For the inserts you will need two strips of 5 1/2" x 1 7/8". One is inserted under the center section and one is over the center section to look like this.

When the strips are in place, fold the card together.

When closed, gently pull apart at the center and you have the secret panel that will open to look like this!

Thanks for stopping by today!

Tomorrow Part II covers how to finish the card so that it is a 5 1/2" x 8 1/2" card.

Wishing you a good day today! Cold and rainy here in WI.
