Spring Beauty

Hello!

This was sent to me by my friend Toni and I thought I would share some of the beautiful photos as it makes me think of Spring and soon we will see the lovely colors begin to arrive!

The Netherlands in May.

At first glance, it looks like a giant child armed with a box of crayons has been set loose upon the landscape. Vivid stripes of purple, yellow, red, pink, orange and green make up A glorious patchwork. Yet far from being a child'ssketchbook, this is, in fact, the northern Netherlands in the middle of tulip season. The Dutch landscape in May is a kaleidoscope of color as the tulips burst into life. The bulbs are planted in late October and early November. More than three billion tulips are grown each year and two-thirds of the vibrant blooms are exported, mostly to the U.S. and Germany. Their dazzling colors are thanks to the years in the 17th century when tulip mania swept the globe and the most eye-catching specimens changed hands for a small fortune. But like a Rainbow, this colorful landscape is a short-lived phenomenon. When the flowers are gone, the land will be cultivated for a rather more mundane crop of vegetables. The Netherlands produce more than nine million bulbs a year.

Hello,

I love this cookout set - makes me think of hamburgers on the grill - but I don't know why I didn't have some kind of greeting on the front top of the card!

Found Some Old Cards #1

Hello!

Because I am having medical issues this week, I do not feel up to creating. I was looking through some things when sorting last week and came upon some old cards that I made when I was first stamping. Cute, but quite a bit of difference from what I make now - had a giggle.

Thanks for stopping by today!

We have sunshine again today in this part of WI - it sure helps endure the cold while waiting for Spring to get here!

Wishing you a sunshiny day wherever you are!

Cute 'Friends' Card

Hello!

This is a cute card for a child to send to a friend - or you can make numerous cards using different colors of crayons and put them in a basket, tied with a colorful bow, to be used as small individual gifts at a child's birthday party, etc. and they look very pretty. The stamps are SU.

This Is One Determined Doll

Hello!

When I took a break from cleaning to work on my project I found this mess on my work table! Pieces strewn about - half of them missing - the box opened and laying on it's side! What in the world? I looked on the floor and all around.

And then I looked up and saw flashes of the colors across the way.

On closer inspection - guess who the culprit was! "I am determined!" she said, with her poor little half finished arm holding tight to the paper strips. "I want you to stop the paper craft projects and finish me!"

"Just let me finish this stationary box set and I promise I will start sewing again and make you my priority." I said and she agreed.

Thanks for stopping by today! I guess you know what I will be doing! :<)

Wishing you a good one. We have some snow again.

"Enough Is Enough" She Said

Hello!

I have been very behind in my dollmaking - it has been weeks since I have done any sewing. The poor little doll that I started so long ago has been patiently sitting in a basket on my sewing machine, waiting for me to get back to her.

Well today she took matters into her own hands and there she was - sitting right on top of the project I am working on. "Enough is enough!" she said. "I am not waiting any longer! You need to put this paper crafting aside and get back to making me!" Can't argue with that! :<)

I have been doing some major cleaning, sorting and downsizing again so I may not have a finished project for a few days and as you can see, this doll is determined so I need to get back to my sewing! I have also been trying to visit as many fellow bloggers as I can so I will try to get this papercraft project finished this week if the little doll will just be a little more patient!

Don't Pack Your Winter Coat Yet!

Hello!

As these little girls know, there is still plenty of cold weather - and yes, even snow - that is yet to appear here in WI. So today they are bundled up against the rain and cold but not even noticing it because of having so many things to talk about! :<)

The image is Mo Manning's - I love her children! http://www.digitalpenciltoo.blogspot.com/

The Weekend Is Here!

Hello!

The weekend is here once again. Our snow is about gone now due to warmer weather - some days the temperatures reached 60 degrees - and some rain. The higher temperatures are to continue for a few days and then it will get colder again. This being Wisconsin I know that our Spring can be very cold and include snow so I am just happy for the patches of warmth and sun!

**The image on today's card is one of Sassy Cheryl's wonderful images.** Isn't she cute? You can see all of Cheryl's creations on her site at http://www.sassycheryls.com/store/

I am determined to visit as many of you this weekend that I can to see what you are creating and say hello. I try to return the kindness to all who leave a comment but I am sadly so behind on that! Thank you for all of the comments and e-mails left for me and I love that you come to visit my blog! I know how important it is to return this kindness. Every day I do visit as many blogs as I can but may not leave comments so I will try to do better! :<)

Wishing you a great weekend!

A New Baby Card

Hello!

It is very seldom that I need a new baby card so for me this was something different and fun to make. I loved this fairy tale paper and Mo Manning's "Baby Steps" digital image was just what I was looking for to make this card for a new little boy's arrival. I added the bunny from another of Mo's images.

This seems to be turning into a Mo Manning week! :<) But I love her images - she is able to capture facial expressions and body language in line drawing to perfection. If you have not visited her site you should! :<) Her new image today "What's Cooking?" is a delightful little 'cook' and a fundraiser to help the people of Japan. http://www.digitalpenciltoo.blogspot.com/

Thanks for stopping by today!

The devastation in Japan from the earthquake and the tsunami is beyond comprehension. Now the radiation issues. I pray every day for all of the people. There are many ways to donate in whatever degree one can to help. Check out Mo's site and her 'little cook' as one of these many ways available.

Wishing you all a good day.

Jack Waiting

Hello!

This little guy has always been one of my favorite images. He is called "Jack Waiting" and can be found on Mo Manning's site http://www.digitalpenciltoo.blogspot.com/

This is one of my son Jim's favorite images so I made a card for him with a daylight view outside the window and now this one has a night view of the stars. I wanted the little boy to have a buddy with him as he dreamed while looking at the night sky so I added the dog image from another of Mo's images.

Thanks for stopping by today!

We are having warmer weather here in this part of WI so I am happy!

Wishing you a great Monday!

A Card for Katie

Hello!

Today's card is one I made for my friend Katie and the "Katie Girl" image is from the second set of digital images that is sent to you as a thank you for a donation to the "Help For Katie" fund.

For those of you who may not know, there is a specific color for the ribbon of each type of cancer. The color of the ribbon for the type of cancer that Katie has is periwinkle, so I used that color in addition to a soft lavender for her card.

Thanks for stopping in today!

So much bad news this morning of the earthquake and tsumani in Japan. The videos are beyond comprehension and I am praying for all of those involved in this horiffic disaster as I watch the continuing coverage.

Wishing you all a safe weekend. I am so very grateful for the many blessings in my life today.

A Monochromatic Card

It's Back - And It's One HEAVY Snow!

Hello!

Here we go again! Set the alarm, go out to the parking lot, clean off the car, move the car, move it back, etc. This snow is HEAVY! I would not want to have to shovel this snow!

Because the snow is so heavy it has stuck to everything and it was beautiful out there this early morning. It was also warm weather so I got my camera to take a few photos while the snowfall stopped for a few minutes. It is still snowing so who knows what today will bring!

Thanks for stopping by today!

Wishing you smiles and laughter!
