A Very Patient Doll Stands & Sees The Sunshine

Hello!

My poor little doll-in-progress has been sitting since March of 2011! On 3-22/23-2011 I posted these photos and wrote of finding a mess of the project I was working on.

"On closer inspection - guess who the culprit was! "I am determined!" she said, with her poor little half finished arm holding tight to the paper strips. "I want you to stop the paper craft projects and finish me!" "Just let me finish this stationary box set and I promise I will start sewing again and make you my priority." I said and she agreed.

Obviously, I did not keep my promise! Over time, the doll and basket were moved to a bookcase shelf and forgotten  - only to be remembered when the shelves were dusted. So much has happened over the past two years that dollmaking was put aside and although I would feel sad when I would be reminded of the poor, unfinished little doll - I just could not begin again to complete her. Yesterday I began - and is she happy! Here she is.

At first she was unsure and wobbly . . . . .

but then she had a face - with eyes to see and a mouth to smile.

And she looked at the sunshine and said, "This is good! Now can I please have some clothes?"

Thank you for visiting my blog today! Wishing you all a happy, sunshine day!

Poor thing has been shunted from pillar to post. I'm so glad that she's seeing the light of day, and can finally stand. However, she told me that the least you could do is make her some fig leaves, before you go putting her out on the internet for all to see.

I honestly can't imagine having the patience to sew this tiny. She's beautiful in all her nekkidness.

LOL, I love the running commentary, especially the last frame, that is too darling, hope she gets some clothes! OK, I am asking my WOYWW folks to rally behind me and I truly need your support. I am in a contest and the voting ends today so it's now or never. PLEASE go vote for me, yes, I am begging, lol http://www.genuinelyjanestudios.com/genuinelyblog/gjs-design-a-book-contest-top-three-finalists-announced/

Totally LMBO off at the narration, Barbara. This is super fun and OH, SO, CUTE! Love it! Now. . . .the important question is, did you get the clothes on that poor, naked soul? :)
Thanks for playing along in the Sassy Cheryl's SMThursday fun this week.
