Little Fairies 1, 2, 3, 4 & 5

Hello!

These wonderful "Little Fairies" are Mo Manning digital images and such fun to color and fussy cut! There are five of them and each one is as sweet as the other! To have them for your own to add them to your studio, go to http://www.mosdigitalpencil.com.

First color and cut around the image to make it easier to fussy cut.

Then fussy cut each one taking care to keep all the detail of the image.

Then I added glitter (of course) to the wings and some other details.

All cut and glitter added.

Made a background to attach the fairies to so I could hang them.

And here they all are - Little Fairies 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5.

On the wall.

Sunny and less humidity today here in this part of WI - more thunder storms in the forecast but right now it is very nice. High 87 degrees today but without that awful humidity it is nothing compared to the 90 degrees with it. Wishing you a happy day!

Flower Jar Poster Card

I had posted a Thank You card earlier (June 2nd) that I made using this wonderful digital image from Mo Manning and was so pleased at how it was perfect for fussy cutting that I wanted to make a large poster card using the same image. http://www.mosdigitalpencil.com/

As any of you know who follow my blog (bless you), I LOVE fussy cutting. This is how I started the poster card. I print the digital image on white cardstock and then again on each of the patterned papers I want to use. (I also added a 5th patterned paper after I started.) Then I start cutting the individual pieces from the patterned papers and layering them onto the main image printed on the white cardstock. All of the individual pieces are edged with a black marker before gluing them to the main image.

This time I also used a patterned paper for the water in the jar as I had colored the water in the Thank You card with a marker. On this poster card the leaves and stems are the only parts of the image colored with markers and the image is outlined with a blue marker to give it a shadow..

HOT, hot, hot today and tomorrow here in this part of WI - in the 90's both days! I turned on the air conditioner for the first time today - too hot and humid to worry about the cost. Hopefully it will be cooler after a couple of days. Sever storms again also in the forecast. Wishing you sunshine but cool breezes where you are!

Neighbors

Hello,

As fussy cutting is my passion, I wanted to create a poster card that was a complex design that would involve lots of different patterned papers to fill it and lots of tiny pieces to fussy cut. I found it all in the digital image of Mo Manning's called "Neighbors" (to get this great image for yourself, go to http://www.mosdigitalpencil.com/) and it was great fun! It took forever to do, but I enjoyed every minute of cutting, gluing, layering and then adding glitter. It was to be for my son Jim and he loves glitter as much as I do!

So here are the many patterned papers all printed with the image and ready to cut.

First I cut out the house images.

Glued them to the main image which was printed on white cardstock.

Then it was time to start cutting out the roofs, stairs and all the decorative pieces.

You can see here how tiny many of these pieces are. In this photo I am cutting the very small blocks that are on the side of the blue house. All pieces are also edged in black marker.

I always keep the pieces I've cut from on a scrap paper that is off to the side. I cannot tell you how frustrating and so time consuming it is to try to find a piece that you need after it has been thrown into the waste basket! And it happened all the time until I finally used my head.

When it was all glued together I then colored the background with a marker. I made wavy lines to create some texture to it which I felt would show off the many patterned papers of the houses.

Then the final step was to add the glitter. I almost kept it for myself, but sent to Jim as promised. 

We have seveer weather on the way here in this part of WI today. It is now very dark and humid and some light rain but there is the yellow gray that isn't good. It is to be in the 90's tomorrow and Saturday - a few nights ago it was down to 47 degrees. Our weather is so strange now.

A Happy Hello

Hello!

A little card to say "Hello" to someone in the hospital. Another of Mo Manning digital images "Girl With Sign", I fussy cut the  dress and the rest is colored with markers.

Flower Jar

Hello!

Made a thank you card for a very kind woman who drove me to an appointment and sat 3 1/2 hours in the waiting room with me before I was seen - plus the appointment time and driving me home. I offered for her to leave me and I would take a cab home but she said 'no problem' and stuck it out with me until the end - what a nice woman!

I love to fussy cut the best and of course this image lends itself to that perfectly! So that's what I did! I colored the vase with marker but a few days later I also made a larger poster card and fussy cut paper for the jar/water also and will post those photos soon.

Buddy

Hello!

A card for Jim using the digital image 'Buddy' from A Day for Daisies.

One of the staff at the group home where Jim lives recently lost her grandmother - but out of this sadness came joy. She had a little dog that now had no mom or home and he has found a new home and a proud dad with Jim. The dog's name is Freckles and they are quite the pair. Lucky dog - lucky Jim. Can't beat that combination! :<)

We have had so much rain and humidity here in this part of WI - thunderstorms almost daily -  but today the sun is out and it is much cooler weather. I feel the breeze from the window as I write this and say 'Thank you God" - it is so nice!

Five Minutes A Day

We have had a week of temperatures in the 80's with rain and thunderstorms - it is so humid in this part of WI and I can't justify using the air conditioner so early in the summer. It is only May and it is so expensive to run so making due with open windows and fans. In this small apartment that doesn't do much (2 windows) and the older I get the more difficult it is to deal with the humidity. But the sun comes out in between the rain so that is good and everything is certainly green!

Kids Love To Draw

Hello!

I love these images from A Day For Daisies. They are beautifully done and a fun challenge for the fussy cutting that I love to do. I wanted to create them all in yellow and used different printed papers for the clothing and the backgrounds and also colored some of the images with markers. Much of the fussy cutting was a bit tricky and time consuming but I love the results! :<)
