WOYW? - Sassy Cheryl's ORANGE & BLACK Challenge

Hello!

With Halloween almost here, it was time to make my yearly poster for my apartment door and I am so behind this year! I always have made a progressive poster - where I start with the background and add something new each day for people to follow during the month of October until the finale on Halloween Eve - but this time I made something different.

I am combining two separate posts today in one. Today is "What's On Your Workdesk? Wednesday  - and you can see all of the great entries at http://stamping-ground.blogspot.com/ This was my workdesk when I started the poster - beginning to cut out my images and using all my colors of orange markers as it was for Sassy Cheryl's ORANGE & BLACK challenge at http://sassycherylschallenge.blogspot.com/ Check out all of this creativity on both blogs for inspiration!

I started with a scrapbook page of patterned paper as my background. I was going to take a photo of the page before I started but forgot - so here is a part of another one that I had used the other side of for my first Concertina card. To this scrapbook page I added the completed Sassy Cheryl's digital images with dimensionals and then began to add lots of different shades of orange color with my Stampin' Up markers and glitter with orange Stickles!

My completed door poster for Halloween 2012. As you can see, I added a lot of color and glitter!

I cut out pumpkins from another sheet of patterned paper and added them with dimensionals in between the feet of the images of the children - across the top and on either side of the greeting. I also added glitter accents to them and filled in the words of the greeting.

I added some leaves I cut out from one of the digital images that I had colored with black marker.

I added glitter accents to the pumpkins in the border and also colored the blank pumpkins behind them and the vines between them.

I colored in the bodies and eyes of the two owls and added glitter to the eyes.

I added glitter to the windows of the house and to all of the stars in the sky and colored in the lines of the house to give it dimension.

I added glitter to everything I had colored bright orange in the images of the children. I cut out the parts of the images I wanted to use. They are from left to right "Sally and Her Bluebirds", "Teacher's Apple Boy" and "Sassy Sally and Her Autumn Leaves" and you can find them at http://www.sassycherylsdigis.com/

Thank you for stopping by to visit my blog today! We have sunshine this morning here in this part of WI but rain is scheduled for later today and over the next two days. Wishing you some sunshine today!

That is a LOT of orange markers! Orange can be hard for me to use sometimes, I wonder if it would be easier with so many variations to choose from...

Not into Halloween, I'm afraid, Barbara, but I can see what an amazing job you've made of this - a tremendous amount of work, and it all comes together very well.

Thanks for your visit and your lovely comment. I finished the art journal page in my little leather book last night, and I've uploaded a post about it, if you're interested in hopping over for a look!

Happy belated WOYWW,
