Hello and Merry Christmas!
I was honored to be a guest designer on the Digital Two For Tuesday blog this month and this is the card I created using one of her wonderful vintage digital images. I fell in love with this scene as soon as I saw it and immediately chose it for my card.
I printed on white CS and colored the image with markers in colors used during that era. To create the vintage look that I wanted to showcase the style of the image, the background was done in 4 shades of chalk – beige/brown/blue with a touch of yellow.
I then cut the image out along the outside of the arch and attached it to a 3-layer card front of yellow/blue/black CS – of which I first outlined the edges of the blue and yellow CS with a black marker to coordinate with the black double line edge of the image arch.
To keep the same vintage look, I created a top border using a paper punch for the 3 different shapes of leaves and then I outlined each individual leaf in black ink and drew free hand the lines on each leaf. I then punched small circles for the berries and also outlined them in black ink. The leaves/berries were added to the top of the card using glue dots to give them dimension.
I hope that you all have a great day today! We have had lots of snow all day yesterday here in this part of WI - it is after midnight and it is still coming down - so it is a white Christmas for us! :<)
Happy Holidays!
