Hello!
When I found a special for three 5" candy bars for $1.00, I was very excited as I thought these would make great Halloween treats! Here is the Halloween Treat Holder that I made to put them in. Hope you enjoy!
Out of SU Black CS I cut 2 strips - a Two 3/4" x Nine 3/4" (score at 1/2", Six 1/4" and Six 3/4") and a Two 3/4" x Five 3/4" (score one end at 1/2") and on the opposite end I used the SU Large Oval Punch to punch an oval 1/4" from the outside edge. I then glued the two pieces together by overlapping at the 1/2" scored ends with Sticky Strip. I found that the candy bar was a bit wider than the large punch, so I again used the punch on each end to make it large enough to slide the candy bar into the holder.
I used SU Rockabilly Specialty DP to decorate the holder. The strips measure left to right - Two 3/8" x Two 1/4", Two 3/8" x Five 3/8" and Two 3/8" x 5 1/16". I also used the SU Scallop Punch on the edges of the end piece (on the left) - be sure to punch the CS and the DP BEFORE you glue the DP to the CS or it will be too thick for the punch to go through both layers!
Also: The direction of the print has to be reversed in the middle section in order to be aligned when the holder is closed! Cllick on the photo below to see direction arrows on the enlarged view.
To make a handle for the holder, I cut 10" of black ribbon and attached each end of the ribbon to meet at the center of the inside of the top using Sticky Strip.
