Winter Scene - Primitive Style

Hello!

The card box I posted yesterday was my second attempt to make it. When I made the first one I measured it wrong - so the finished box was much narrower. As I looked at the box, trying to decide what it could be used for, I thought how perfect the top measurement was for a narrow landscape scene card.

I had just purchased a wonderful little stamp set from Stampendous that had all the items that could be used in an outdoor scene - houses and trees, a horse and sleigh, etc. - so I thought I'd try my hand at a Grandma Moses style winter scene that could be used as a Christmas card. With some stamping, some sketching, some markers and glue and glitter - I created the scene for my card. It was great fun to do!

Here is my finished 'card' and as you can see it became the top of the box. I have changed my mind about making a set of 8 duplicate cards just like it to go inside the box - which was my original plan - and will fill the box with something else "Christmasy" as a gift. :<)

Here is the stamp set I used for the winter scene for this box.

It was so much fun to create that as soon as I was finished I had already begun another style 'card' that would also turn into another scene for the top of another box. :<) I think that this will turn into a week of holiday boxes! Guess my mistake turned into a great new option!

Thanks for stopping by today!

Tomorrow I have a very different style winter scene to share.

B: this is an awesome project. Absolutely love the glitter. A great present - afterwards, it would look great in a shadowbox, too. Great job!
